On May 16, 2024, within the framework of the 15th International Economic Forum "Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum", a round table "Russia–Malaysia: economic aspects of regional cooperation" was held. The event was organized by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan. The event was attended by a representative official delegation of Malaysia headed by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Mr. Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan.
During the event, prospects for cooperation in the fields of tourism, agriculture, culture, green energy and sustainable development were discussed.
