Online dialogue Russia-Indonesia

The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) conducted online dialogue "Russia-Indonesia Economic Partnership" in commemorating 70 years Russia –Indonesia diplomatic relations. The event was held on July 29, 2020 via videoconference.

The main speakers of the online dialogue were Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Mahendra Siregar, Vice-Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shinta Kamdani, Ambassador of Russia to Indonesia Lyudmila Vorobieva, Ambassador of Indonesia to Russia Wahid Supriyadi and Chairman of Russia-ASEAN Business Council Ivan Polyakov. Chairman of the Russia-Indonesia Committee of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Didit Ratam moderated the discussion.

During the online dialogue, discussions were held on developing trade, economic and investment cooperation. Among the most important and promising areas of cooperation were hydropower, high technology, pharmaceuticals, banking cooperation, and the agro-industrial complex. The issue of interaction between Indonesia and the EAEU was also discussed.

During the discussion, the Russia-ASEAN Business Council expressed its willingness to act as a platform to support investment projects of the two countries. The Business Council also outlined the main topics for interaction, including the restoration of supply chains, the mutual integration of markets, the development of digital infrastructure, the liberalization of investment policy, the removal of non-tariff barriers, issues of production localization.
