Exhibition in Omsk "In the land of the Emerald Buddha"

On March 24, 2022, the Omsk Regional Museum of Fine Arts named after M. A. Vrubel hosted the opening of the exhibition "In the Land of the Emerald Buddha", dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Kingdom of Thailand. The exhibition will be held in Omsk from March 25 to May 22, 2022.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture of the Omsk Region Svetlana Bakulina, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Vladimir Anisimov, Director of the M. A. Vrubel Museum Farida Bureeva, as well as leading cultural figures of the Omsk region and the Siberian Federal District, Russia. The event was supported by the Russian Academy of Arts, the Bureau of Creative Expeditions, the Russia-ASEAN Business Council and the Interstate Development Corporation.

The exhibition "In the Land of the Emerald Buddha" in Omsk is a continuation of the academic trans-Asian art and educational project. His exhibitions are consistently held in 18 major cities of the Urals, Siberia and the Far East: Nizhny Tagil, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Barnaul, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Chita, Yakutsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok. The final exhibition is expected to open at the State Museum of the East in Moscow.

During the creative expeditions to Thailand, famous Russian authors created numerous works of art in various types and techniques of fine art. Viewers can see the works of recent years by academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts Rustam Yaushev, Vladimir Anisimov, Olga Yausheva, Honorary Academician Lyudmila Yuga, People's Artist of Russia Vitaly Popov, Honored Artists of Russia Irina Makoveeva, Elena Nenastina, members of the Union of Artists of Russia Svetlana Mogutina, Mikhail Stoyachko, Tatiana Obukhova, Anna Miloserdova and others.
