On April 13, 2026, a business breakfast with the ASEAN Moscow Committee hosted by the Russia–ASEAN Business Council took place at the Carlton Moscow Hotel, marking the 35th anniversary of Russia–ASEAN dialogue relations.

The business breakfast was attended by the Ambassadors — members of the ASEAN Moscow Committee, Mr. Ivan Polyakov, Chairman of the Russia–ASEAN Business Council and Vice-President of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), Mr. Ivan Timofeev, Director General of RIAC, and Dr. Ekaterina Koldunova, Director of the ASEAN Centre at MGIMO University.

The official part of the breakfast was opened by Mr. Ivan Polyakov, Chairman of the Russia–ASEAN Business Council and RIAC Vice-President and H.E. Igor G. Bailen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to the Russian Federation and Chairman of the ASEAN Moscow Committee. They highlighted the intensity of contacts between Russia and ASEAN member states, as well as the significant potential for further cooperation.

During the event, Mr. Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director General, and Dr. Ekaterina Koldunova, Director of the ASEAN Centre at MGIMO University, presented a jointly prepared RIAC report entitled “Toward a New Agenda for Russia–ASEAN Relations.” The report provides a comprehensive analysis of the current state of Russia’s cooperation with Southeast Asian countries across the political-security, trade-economic, and socio-cultural spheres. Key trends in international economic relations were also discussed, along with practical recommendations for the comprehensive development of Russia–ASEAN partnership.
