SPIEF-2026: EAEU-ASEAN Business Dialogue

The Russia-ASEAN Business Council and the Eurasian Economic Commission with the support of the Roscongress Foundation, organized the EAEU-ASEAN Business Dialogue, which was held for the eighth time in the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 4, 2026.
The moderator of the business dialogue was Ivan Polyakov, Chairman of the Russia-ASEAN Business Council, who noted in his opening remarks that 2026 is a landmark year for Russia-ASEAN relations, as it marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of relations that have progressed to a full-fledged strategic partnership.
Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Indonesia, noted in his speech that the changes taking place in the world have revealed the fragility of supply chains and the risks associated with these disruptions. The signing of the free trade agreement between the EAEU and the Republic of Indonesia and the potential for ratification of this agreement were particularly noted.
Daniyar Imanaliev, Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission, stressed in his speech that cooperation between the EAEU and ASEAN countries has already become a working mechanism and is characterized by an upward trend in trade. Minister Imanaliev noted that in 2025, a program of cooperation with ASEAN until 2030 was approved, which systematizes relations between the EAEU and ASEAN in key areas.
Aung Kyaw Hoeб, Union Minister of National Planning, Investment and Foreign Relations of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar spoke about key investment priorities in Myanmar in the coming years, including energy, infrastructure, and agricultural processing.
Alexey Kulapin, Director General of the Russian Energy Agency of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, spoke about cooperation with the ASEAN Center for Energy. Alexey Kulpain shared his vision of the prospects for the development of global energy. Special attention was paid to various cooperation programs with ASEAN countries.
Anthony Francis Fernandes, CEO of Capital A Berhad (Malaysia), during his speech noted the importance of connectivity between different regions and shared his vision of the prospects for cooperation between Russia and the ASEAN member states.
Igor Bailen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to the Russian Federation, noted that 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Philippines. Mr. Ambassador spoke about the priorities of the Philippines' ASEAN presidency in 2026 and upcoming events.
Petr Zaselskiy, Chairman of the Board, EXIMBANK of Russia, spoke about measures to support Russian business in carrying out foreign economic activity with ASEAN member states.
