Conference "Russia and ASEAN in the Asia-Pacific Region"

The Russia-ASEAN Business Council took part in the international scientific and practical conference "Russia and ASEAN in the Asia-Pacific Region: Dynamics of cooperation, regional processes and global context". The event, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the dialogue partnership and the 30th anniversary of Russia-ASEAN relations, was held within the framework of the 13th Russian International Studies Association Convention (RISA). The conference was conducted by MGIMO under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the ASEAN Center at MGIMO.

The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by Igor Morgulov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Andrey Baykov, Vice Rector of MGIMO, Marty Natalegawa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (2009-2014), Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia, Alexander Ivanov, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to ASEAN, Dang Minh Hoi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Russia, Ekaterina Koldunova, Director of the ASEAN Center at MGIMO and  Ivan Polyakov, Chairman of the Russia-ASEAN Business Council

Within the framework of the conference, nine thematic sections were conducted aimed at discussing a wide range of issues of both bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Russia and the ASEAN member states.
