17th Meeting of ASEAN Business Advisory Council and Joint Business Councils

The Russia-ASEAN Business Council participated in the 17 ASEAN Business Advisory Council Joint Business Councils’ meeting via videoconference on February 2, 2021.

Representatives of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, ASEAN Business Club, ASEAN Secretariat, as well as representatives of the ASEAN BAC Joint business councils attended the meeting.

Discussions were held on measures to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and restore economic growth, prospects for cooperation in the healthcare sector, as well as the points from the business digitalization.

The Russia-ASEAN Business Council reported on the holding of bilateral online roundtables and webinars with Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand in 2020 and noted that Russian companies participated in ASEAN Foreign Business Sentiments Survey conducted by ASEAN Secretariat as part of the preparation of the medium-term study of the ASEAN Economic Community Plan (AEC Blueprint) until 2025.

The Russia-ASEAN Business Council also put forward a proposal to hold seminars and round tables between Russia and ASEAN with the support of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council and the ASEAN Business Club on cooperation in the field of pharmaceuticals, agri-food sector and infrastructure projects.
